Brigid
Brigid is a lamb born in late March who was supposed to go to the abattoir. Instead she spent her entire second month of life living inside our house before she was ready to join the flock. She went from being a tiny house lamb to becoming one of the most joyful and mischievous sheep at the Sanctuary.
About Brigid
Brigid is a young sheep born in late March, and she has had a rather unusual start to life. Right before being charged on the truk that would have taken her to the fattening facility (right before the abattoir), a friend took her and brought her to us.
Her second month of life was spent living inside our house with us, before she was finally ready to leave the house and join the rest of the flock. 🐑
Because of this, Brigid has always been extremely connected to people. She is affectionate, confident and very much a people-seeking sheep. She doesn't really understand the concept of personal boundaries and would much rather be wherever the humans are.
She is also pure joyful chaos. Brigid has already developed quite a reputation for escaping through fences and jumping over things she absolutely shouldn't be jumping over. If there is a way out, Brigid will probably find it.
She has a particularly close relationship with Sorcha, and the two of them are often inseparable. Together they have become a lovely little duo within the flock, although Brigid's adventurous personality means she is often the one getting them into trouble.
After spending such an important part of her early life inside our home, it is incredibly special to see her now living as a sheep. She has the freedom to run, explore, graze and spend her days surrounded by other sheep, while still coming to us for the affection she loves so much.
Unique trait: the escape artist. We have lost count of how many times Brigid has found a way through a fence. She is tiny, determined and apparently completely convinced that every field is there for her to explore. 😂
