Morrigan
Morrigan is one of the older sheep in our flock. She spent years being used for breeding on a dairy farm and, after countless births, she was spared from slaughter. She is shy and cautious, but underneath that reserve is an incredibly sweet sheep who is slowly learning to trust again.
About Morrigan
Morrigan is an older sheep, estimated to be around 9–12 years old, and she has already lived through more than any sheep should have to. She spent her life on a dairy farm giving birth again and again, until eventually she was no longer considered useful and was destined for slaughter. Thankfully, she was given the chance to start a completely different life with us. 🐑
She is naturally shy and has always been more cautious around humans. But she has been opening up more and more, and seeing this change has been incredibly special.
Morrigan is actually very sweet once she feels safe. She loves pushing her head against us for affection, and she has become increasingly confident about coming closer. Cooler weather has also brought out more of her personality, and recently we've seen her becoming much more affectionate and comfortable.
Within the flock, she is particularly close to Sorcha and Seren. She has a lovely relationship with Seren, and there is something very gentle about watching this older sheep and the younger members of the flock together.
Morrigan has also had some ongoing health issues, including chronic mastitis and recurring nose infections, so we keep a close eye on her. Despite everything she has been through, she has a quiet resilience that makes her very special to us.
Unique trait: the wise heart of the flock. Morrigan has the kind of presence that makes you feel she has seen absolutely everything. And when she chooses to come over and ask for a head scratch, it feels like a very special privilege. 🤍
